Fry Club Colts (5) v AEK BOCO (0)
19/03/06
Fry’s once again get the match off to a good start when after only 2 minutes they win a corner. Jack Baber crosses in a long ball across the area which is hit back into the area with an overhead kick by Ryan Ellett. Dan Buley unleashes a shot which is too much for the keeper to handle and Fry’s go 1 –0 up.
BOCO are fighting back well
but their attacks are being thwarted by Tom Ashley in the Fry’s goal who is
coming out well to smother each attempt.
Evan Thomas is providing
some piercing through balls from midfield but the BOCO defenders are up to the
challenge.
14 minutes gone and Harry
Pople crosses the ball, its headed on by Evan Thomas
and Jack Baber pokes in the second goal, 2-0.
Straight from the kickoff,
another excellent ball from Evan Thomas is picked up by Dan Buley who chips the
keeper to make it 3-0.
Dan Buley gets his hat
trick and Fry’s fourth in the 22nd minute when he comes back from an
offside position, turns and puts the ball past the keeper with the outside of
his boot. 4-0.
John Cotgreave comes on for
Ryan Ellett up front in the 25th minute.
Half time talk hears the
manager telling the boys that they are playing some excellent football and need
to keep it going. They need to bring the ball down more and play a passing
game. More talking and communication is also required within the team.
2nd half started off
scrappy with no real shape. Things start to calm themselves down again in the
50th minute when Jack Baber fires in a fierce shot from a cross to
the far post, 5-0.
John Cotgreave
is unlucky not to get on the score sheet when he sees his well hit shot just go
the wrong side of the bar.
Tom Ashley, in the Fry’s
goal, makes an instinctive save in the 63rd minute to keep a clean
sheet.
Another
comprehensive win. Well
done lads.
